"There are more years behind me than ahead of me..." Growth and transformation take courage. The type of courage that sends many cowering into their safe caves to lock their doors and hug their old faithful traditions and teachings passed down from generation to generation, or picked up alongside the road in an attempt to navigate through life experiences.
Many fear evolving and change because it takes us out of our comfort zone into a realm of uncertainty, where the impossible becomes 'I"m possible'. It makes us take a long, hard look at ourselves until we see the broken fragments of who we were destined to be, but somehow were too reluctant to venture on the path most neglected for fear of rejection, failure, being ostracized, dispelling tradition, religion or other beliefs, etc. "There are more years behind me than ahead of me..." And before you know it, you'll have lived the majority of your life in someone else's patchwork shoes that never really felt your own. Maybe today you are sitting in your home thinking of all the things you've wanted to do with or in your life. Maybe, you have made the decision that you want YOUR LIFE to be your message, filled with humanity and exploration. Maybe you just want to wake up in the morning and be un-apologetically you, without feelings of shame, poor self-worth, the need to explain, etc. Maybe you want the moxy to go for that new position, quit that job, return to school, or simply walk away from things that no longer serve you well. Or maybe, you just want to simply discover you. I am here to encourage you to take the first step down the path of exploration, and you'll find that what you once feared feels more like 'home' than all that you've known your entire life. Before we can ever be ourselves, we must first embark on the journey to know ourselves, our fears, our limitations, likes and dislikes. Through thorough self-examination and questioning our thoughts and beliefs, we begin to slowly uncover who we are at our core, before we were covered in layers of someone else's clothing. Stay Well, Frankie
