Last year I made a bold decision to drop all my FB friends from my account and just devote it to my blog or inspirational things. I'll admit, I needed to structure my life around peace after a year of Covid-19, politics, and storms in our area. However, it probably would have been beneficial long before any of those things became relevant. The affect of that decision was not knowing when people's birthdays were and needing a one-stop shop to view them. I recently came across the solution to that problem from SATURDAYGIFT.COM . Not all our Goliath's look the same. For me, my Goliath is sometimes stepping out on faith and trusting that I have the knowledge and skill set to complete the task. Recently, there have been many setbacks in maintaining states of peace, feeling confident enough to work towards my dreams and engaging in past times, and peeling myself away from distractions to work toward self-improvement. Here are some ways I am taking my life back after a year of falling off the wagon and succumbing to becoming the atmosphere around me. 1. EARLY MORNING INTENTION Schedule time to wake up early and do a short (or long) meditation, prayer, exercise, or even drink coffee. The purpose of this is to set the intention for the day. personally, I love Deepak Chopra 10-minute guided meditations. 2. CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS Tackle those thoughts by stopping them right in their tracks! I'll admit, I'm guilty of playing out negative experiences in my head (telling someone off, correcting someone regarding politics and religion or whatever, expecting that I will have to tell my kids to clean up when I get home, or even doubting thoughts about myself and my work). I have recently developed a habit of saying 'stop it' to myself as I begin to do that and replace it with a positive thought or turn up a good song. Those thoughts get up into a world of trouble and we have to learn to correct ourselves when they toward negative imaginings. 3. POSITIVITY BEFORE BED Lastly, I have developed a habit of listening to positivity just before bed. Most often, it is related to how our thoughts create our reality or something that is broader than my thinking on humanity. Some might think that these are not Goliaths. I beg to differ, because many of use struggle to make simple actions, that can make the world of difference, a part of our everyday routines. I pray that you have an intentional and blessed year, filled with seeking humanity and peace for all. Be well, Frankie.Alisha |
