If you've ever read a Dr. Seuss book, you know that his ability to speak 'child' was superb, but he also had an innate ability to speak 'human'. Who knew Dr. Seuss had so much wisdom and insight hidden within those ever-so amusing and quirky children's books? Oh, the Places You'll Go! so accurately depicts real-life it's UNREAL. In a time where things are somewhat uncertain, one thing that does not waiver is who we are at our core. That, in itself, is a comforting feeling when we can block out the happenings around us, and just 'feel it'.
As the book states, we will have hang-ups and go into places without so much light, but if we remember that there's a journey to get back to when all this is over, we will be alright. And when we reach that place where everyone is waiting (to be un-quarantined, for that doctor's report, positive pregnancy test, or waiting to be told what we want to do or how we should live), we can choose to do something different in the 'gap' of uncertainty. Surely we will worry, because that's sometimes what we do, but we should be aware of when it's time to move on mentally and make the best of a very emotionally and/or financially depleting travel into uncharted territory.
